Knoetzekamma Limousins was established in 1996 after Riaan and Kobus Watson bought their first Limousins from a bull auction at Queenstown.

The first female animals were bought from John Phillip’s well known Carrickmoor stud and from there on more good quality Limousins were bought on a regular basis from auctions.

Everyone that knew Riaan, would know that he was a top stockman and within a short period of time he built one of the best Limousin herds in the country. Such was his progress that Knoetzekamma Limousins reached the highest price until then for a SA raised bull at the National auction in 2001.

After Riaan’s untimely tragic death in 2006, his wife managed the stud for a few years. In 2010 a large part of the stud was sold and Kobus took a core group of cows with top genetics from Riaan’s stud to go on with.
